My name is Chanté, owner of Lobo Azul and instructor in detection work, combined with scent work, certified by the Dutch Scent and Detection Association.
In recent years, I worked for the police in the Netherlands. Among other things, I specialized in enforcing animal welfare. In addition to keeping my German Shepherds as a hobby, I also have experience in training and breaking in horses. When Blue, my Old German Shepherd male, came into my life, I became acquainted with detection and scent sports. Blue was trained as a service dog and came to live with us in the family alongside our Old German Shepherd female, Gin. Because Blue had a working drive and routine, I had to get to work with him. His potential, as well as our shared enthusiasm, led me to become an instructor.
In 2025, I emigrated with my family to Portugal, where Lobo Azul was established. Lobo Azul means blue wolf in Portuguese, named after my wolf-grey shepherds and, of course, my best buddy 'Blue'.
My goal: To introduce and grow the detection sport in Portugal and to enthuse dog owners with this challenging, bonding, and natural mental sport.
